New Driving Test Booking & Changes Rules — Starting March 31st 2026

From March 31st 2026, the way you book and manage your UK driving test is changing — so here’s what you need to know 👇

✔️ Only YOU can book and manage your own test — instructors will no longer be able to do it for you.

✔️ You’ll be allowed only 2 changes to your test (date/time, test centre or swap), reduced from six.

✔️ Moves to other test centres will be limited to ones near your original booking.

✔️ If you need more than 2 changes, you’ll have to cancel and rebook — but can get a refund if you cancel at least 10 working days before the test.

💡 Tips Before Booking:

✔ Make sure you’re ready before booking.

✔ Choose a centre you can realistically travel to.

✔ Use your instructor’s personal reference number when booking — this helps avoid double-bookings.
